General Personality: Simba is a very young, naive and doesn't quite understand the responsibilities he would have to have to become king. He thinks that being king would just mean freedom.
However, he doesn't feel he deserves to be king, thinking that he killed his father. This guilt plays on him all the time, and he truly believes that he doesn't deserve to be king. Despite this, Simba is a very noble sort of person, and would be willing to give his life for anyone. He is willing to fight for the beliefs that his father instilled in him. While quick to rise, he also tries to watch himself and calm down. He tends to watch himself often, trying to turn into the kind of lion, er, person his father wanted him to be.
Along with all of this weight on his shoulders, Simba tends to mask the pain of 'killing' his father under a facade of playfulness. He jumps around and makes jokes all the time, and doesn't seem to take things seriously unless one tries to harm him or someone he cares about.

History: Leon is a young boy who believes he was the cause of his father's death several years ago. His father was the owner of one of the biggest businesses in Storybrooke, though just as big as Mr. Gold's business in Storybrooke but different. Mr. Gold owned everything, Keita and Son provides supplies for everyone in Storybrooke, and really it has a great reputation. Only thing is, nearly a year ago his father died in a and his uncle convinced him it was his fault when it happened. Leon left and cut his hair, finding a job at the ice cream parlor in town, Any Given Sundae, where the owner allowed him to stay, and kept his secret. While he goes by Leon, no one knows his last name, and he doesn't plan on anyone figuring it out. Meanwhile his uncle is driving the business to corruption, raising prices and allowing the supplies to dwindle and become unavailable to people. Leon doesn't know it thought. Leon Keita is dead, after all, having been shot at the same time his father was, or so the story says.
Fairy Tale History: Simba was born into the royal line, as the son of the king of the pride, Mufasa. This pride existed in the land of the Enchanted Forest, though far away from many of the castles, as its own kingdom of shape shifters, who preferred their animal form, though when visited by humans they would shift into a human form. The Pride land extended far along the land, and where the sun set, that was where the forest began.
As a young boy he liked to explore, he didn't do what he was told by his father, and as a result, Simba believes his father died trying to save him from a stampede of wildebeests, as he wasn't supposed to be in the gorge, and his father saved him, then seeming to fall to his death because of Simba (though as it turns out his uncle caused it).
Simba fled from the pride, he fled from his people, thinking that he didn't deserve to be king any longer, leaving his uncle Scar as the king. He met two curious animals named Timon and Pumba within the Enchanted Forest, who took care of him for the next few years, teaching him how to survive, turning him into an unwilling vegetarian (as soon as he can have meat, he will, it's in his blood).
Simba never returned to his pride, at least not yet. He doesn't know the terrible conditions that his uncle rules under, but if he did he would go back and help his pride, as he is the son of the king he killed. He would have to make it up to them somehow, and leaving the pride was his way of atoning for what he believed he did.
