I felt the darkness as it tried to pull me down The kind of dark that haunts a hundred year old house Murmur had felt like he'd been asleep for days, and he really wasn't too fond of having to open his eyes when his body was actually telling him it was okay to be awake. Regardless, he did so and was extremely, incredibly unhappy with his surroundings. He was in that same room again. The room they always brought him in when they'd been doing their little experiments. How dare he?! Pan had sent him here! He should have been faster. If only he would have jammed that knife in before he'd done his stupid little stunt with what he... Wait, what had he actually done again? Murmur only remembered getting hit and then the feeling of falling.
"You've got to be fucking kidding me," he muttered, wiggling his arms, but realizing it was useless seeing as he was tied to that stupid table again. What were they going to do to him this time? Would it be more injections? Perhaps he would simply get a beating for his escape. Some of the guards here were really screwed up, so he wouldn't put it past them. As if it wasn't bad enough that they were experimenting on him.
Murmur let out a sigh of relief as he looked around and saw that the room was empty for the time being. He had a moment to catch his breath before he had to deal with the nightmares he got after they finally put him under. He almost preferred it when they left him completely awake, which they seemed to enjoy more themselves anyways. He was sure they all liked their jobs. He looked over at his bandaged hand and rolled his eyes. "One kind move doesn't give fallen angels their wings."

Gideon walked slowly down the hallway towards the room that held his brother. To him, it had been a long time since he had seen him, though his understanding was that he had been stuck and suspended in the Gravicube. His brother, having not had something to really shield him, had managed to get to this world, and had been here for almost three decades.
Gideon could feel his stomach clenching into knots as they slowly approached. He was mostly worried about his rather severe lack of magic in this world. When he had first burst out of the box after it had been opened by his new partner, Gold/Rumplestiltskin, his magic had actually been substantial.
It now felt as if his power was quickly being drained by this place. He was afraid to even try anything, for fear that it would entirely be depleted. He and Gold had managed to bottle up some of his ambient power, though it had not been a substantial amount. Now though, Gideon felt as if he was almost entirely human. This was not entirely the problem he was having.
The main issue, was that he had no idea whether Murmur still had power. It was entirely possible that Murmur still had magic, and that he would use the opportunity to rip his older brother apart. Even so, Gideon felt a bit happy that he had finally managed to track his bro down. It had been far too long. The doctor of this structure had explained that it was a hospital, and that this particular section was for people with stronger and more dangerous mental illnesses.
The people he was walking with, orderlies the head doctor had called them, stopped at a door and unlocked it. Gideon stood just to the side of the opening, and took a deep breath in anticipation. The larger orderly stared at Gideon and sighed, clearly just wanting to get on with his day. Gideon smiled uncomfortably and felt the corner of his mouth go slightly crooked.
He breathed out slightly, then turned into the room, stopping in the doorway and looking at the figure on the bed. "Hey there, Mumu. Long time no see."

I felt the darkness as it tried to pull me down The kind of dark that haunts a hundred year old house Murmur's ears tuned in when he heard the sound of the door opening, and he lifted his head up slightly to peer over at it. When a figure finally emerged from it and spoke, Murmur's eyes widened. Mumu. He wouldn't even had needed to see to know who that was. As if it were an insane instinct, Murmur started uselessly struggling to escape the straps holding him down. They were always way too tight, digging into his skin rather harshly. It only got more uncomfortable as he wiggle around. "You son of a bitch! How did you get here?!"
He gritted his teeth together, finally stopping his movement. His brother was the last person he had been expecting to see here. He was supposed to either be cursed out in the world or stuck in some other land. He hadn't bothered him thus far, so it didn't make any sense. He obviously wasn't cursed either considering what he had said. His brother's existence seemed to bring him nothing but pain, being a reminder of his past.
Murmur's eyes narrowed at him for a moment before an idea dawned on him. Maybe, just maybe, he could get his brother to help him out of here. Of course, his brother wasn't stupid, but at least he could try. If anything, it would be fun just to screw with him. If only he had magic he would have been going at him already.
Loosing his glare completely, Murmur switched his facial expression into one of complete despair and desperation. He leaned his head back and began crying. He was incredibly good at fake crying, though he hadn't really been sure where exactly he'd picked up such a talent. "Gidy, you've got to help me," he looked back up at him, choking on his words as he spoke them in a sweet tone that definitely wasn't his usual. "You came to save me, big brother, didn't you? They're hurting me here..." His eye twitched and he looked over to the side to try and distract away from that. Normally he didn't care, but at this moment he didn't want his... differences to show through to plainly.

Gideon had expected the venomous response that Murmur seemed to almost spit at him. He simply took it, waiting for Murmur to get it out of his system. He was now certain that his little brother had no magic. No way was there someone that was going to be able to tie him down and not get torn to shreds in return.
At least, that is how the Murmur he had been chasing for so long seemed to be. Gideon laughed slightly and walked slowly into the room. He grabbed a chair, turned it around and straddled it, then folded his arms on the top and rested his chin. "That's sort of a long story. It's not as important as me actually finally catching up to you."
He looked up and down the length of Murmur, observing the constraints that held him down. Then he was slightly caught off guard by Murmur's sudden change in disposition. He felt his brother's tears and words tear at his heart, and he could feel his eyes water slightly as the realization dawned on him that this place was actually good for Murmur right now.
Under normal circumstances, like having to fight his way to Murmur, he would have fully believed him. He definitely had some suspicions about this place, and the orderlies seemed to be some kind of security, so everything Murmur was saying had the possibility of having some truth. More than anything though, it was Murmur asking him for help.
After all this time, all the hate that Gideon believed his brother had for him, he simply could not believe his brother wanted his help. "That's enough, Murmur. This world is weird, even beyond my kind of weird, but no way does someone that spent most of his life being a dick suddenly decide he is a weak little girl."
He sat upright and wiped downward over his mouth with his hand. Naturally he wanted to take his brother out of here, because family sticks with family. But, it seemed as if this place could possibly do some good for Murmur. He did wonder why they would lock him in a place like this. his understanding was that this facility was for people that were mentally or criminally insane.
He would have called his brother fucked up, but not really insane. Definitely dark and, not that he would say it out loud, a monster. But, he always seemed to know what he was doing. It was definitely twisted and sometimes a bit sick though, so Gideon decided it might just be that. "How did you manage to get wrangled up and goose-tied Murmur? Last I checked you had a bit more juice to your power. Kinda feels like you lost your mojo in this world."
It was then that Gideon realized that many of the things he was saying were just a little odd, though they felt right. He figured it must have been part of the result from the spell he and Gold had done, giving him some memories of this world so he could function, and not get hit by what was called a car. As he had almost managed to do several times already.

I felt the darkness as it tried to pull me down The kind of dark that haunts a hundred year old house Murmur had to avoid rolling his eyes to keep up the act he'd wanted to go for. So, even now, he had been trying to catch up. Took him long enough. Twenty-eight years, actually. If Murmur wanted to track someone down, he was sure he could have done it quicker then that. He considered himself superior to his brother, even if that wasn't exactly the truth. Over the years, he'd gotten awfully full of himself. It was weird that he'd gotten here with all of his memories in tact. For a minute Murmur found himself wondering if he had magic, but seriously doubted it. This curse, even if it left a select few with their memories, had that effect on them all.
When his brother wasn't buying it, Murmur's face went completely blank. The fake tears had instantly stopped though the previous ones were still finishing their path down his face. He tilted his head back and smirked. "This place has a way of taking one's soul away, but you're right. A dick will always be a dick." He let out a small chuckle, unable to help himself. People didn't change, not really, and it seemed his brother was smart enough to know that.
"This world, lucky for you right now, is magic-less." That was a fact that drove Murmur to insanity by it's self. He loved magic. He loved power. He hated it here. Feeling like he had no control over anything was just building up the wrath inside. "They'd better hope no one drags it in, or..." He laughed again and shook his head. "You know, the bodies will start hitting the floor." He shrugged, though he was too constricted to get his shoulders up very high. He was very securely locked in place. "One by one until they're all dealt with."
Instead of his eye, this time his neck twitched and his spine hovered off of the table as an awkward tickling sensation ran down it. He looked to his right, almost as if he were looking at someone. "No, no. I won't hurt your precious, baby boy. Not yet." He glared. "Not yet." It was like no matter how hard he'd been trying not to see the damn woman, she was always around. His mother, that was. When this was all done and over with and he had his magic again, that would be the first thing to go. He'd straighten out his thoughts (assuming it would even be possible for him to do so at the point he was at), and then he'd take care of the pesky sight problem. There had been times in this place that Murmur had been considering just taking out his eyes. They were useful, but if he'd gotten any crazier, he was sure he could manage on sound alone. Even without magic, sound was like a weapon.

Gideon listened quietly as his younger brother spoke. "You sure about that, little brother? I'm the one that's lucky? Come on, man. Bein' like you doesn't mean you don't know you aren't the only powerhouse around here." Gideon leaned in a little bit closer to his brother and lowered his voice slightly. "How many times have we fought? How many times has it done nothing?"
Gideon leaned back and looked around the room. "See, the way i see it, this world has no magic. Because of that, my magic is dwindling a bit. Now I don't know how much I have left, but I damn well know it's enough to handle a dude that spends most of his time talkin to himself." Gideon stood up and walked to the side of the bed. He raised his hand slightly and flicked his fingers in a downward fashion.
He felt the ebb and flow of his magic as he increased the pressure from the gravity against his brothers stomach. It was not enough to cause any harm, and all he really hoped to achieve by doing this was showing his brother that he did, in fact, still possess at least some of the magic that had made him one of the most powerful magic users in the enchanted forest. Gideon's eyes trailed to where his brother was looking, though he was certain that doing so would be useless, as there was, without a doubt, no one actually in that spot.
"It doesn't matter, Mumu. Magic or no magic, I will always be here to stop you. Currently you couldn't beat me if you wanted to." He leaned over and roughly patted Murmur's face. "You are not the same beast you once were, little brother."

I felt the darkness as it tried to pull me down The kind of dark that haunts a hundred year old house Murmur smirked, having complete confidence that one day he'd be the one to come out on top of their little brotherly quarrel. He didn't recognize any limits in his own power despite the fact that they were there. He narrowed his eyes as Gideon leaned closer, spewing the truth out of his lips like venom. Murmur felt an anger begin building up inside of him with every word his brother muttered causing him to attempt to spit in his brother's face followed by giving him a crooked smile with no redeeming light behind it.
After another moment with his complete blank face, Murmur practically hissed at his brother's comment that signaled he'd gained he realization that his baby brother was actually loosing his mind a little. "I'm not talking to myself! I'm talking to her!" His eyes darted to the side where he stared at a woman who was laughing rather deviously. Only, the woman wasn't actually there. Suddenly remembering that Gideon wouldn't even be able to see her, Murmur's eyes shot back to his older brother. There was no taking back that outburst. All he could do was stare at the man with a scowl threatening to ooze out of him at any moment.
Suddenly, the nasty expression vanished and his eyes shot open wide as he felt the gravity intensifying down on his bruised stomach. "There's no way..." He mumbled, suddenly incredibly confused before wincing as the slight discomfort caught up with him.
Then, he felt a pat on his slim face, causing his expression to harden. It was practically the ultimate disrespect. "How is it even possible that you still possess magic?" Hateful washed-out blue eyes stared straight into the face of his unknown future demise. "The moment I get my hands on my own, I promise, I will gut you." His right eye twitched briefly. It was big talk from someone in his predicament, but he really didn't know how to handle being the victim.

Gideon's face was calm, cool and collected still, though if one could see into his mind they would be able to witness the onslaught of feelings that we storming around. He wondered at how anyone had even been able to capture Murmur. He himself had spent so many years trying to do what some mere humans had managed so easily.
Here was his brother, power reduced to being held down in a bed by mere threads and metal. Here lay the only being Gideon's pride allowed him to consider an equal. Here, wrapped in chains and held against his will was Gideon's arch nemesis. Here, powerless and lost lay the last of his family, his brother. The last of his magic gone, Gideon shook his head, followed by a flicker of his eyes towards the spot that his sibling had motioned towards.
As expected, there was nothing there. "How do I possess magic? Perhaps you are not as godly as you believe, whisper demon. All that power you once had and now you are little more than a crazy, tied down, pathetic man that sees ghosts. You have lost all that you loved so much, and now your own demons are consuming you." Gideon stood over his brother, looking down at him. For the slightest of moments he considered showing him the mercy of killing him here and now. Instead he leaned down close to his brother's head, making sure to stay out of range of any teeth or headbutt possibilities.
"Get your powers, brother. Become powerful again. Rampage, rage, unleash horrors this town and its people have never seen. I will be there. Stopping you now, and always." Gideon leaned back and stood up straight. For the briefest of moments he stared at the beautiful, yet wild face of his brother. How far the mage of sound had fallen. How far he would fall further still.

I felt the darkness as it tried to pull me down The kind of dark that haunts a hundred year old house Murmur scowled at his brother's words. They may have rung true, but his mind refused to believe such a thing. "For that, I would have had to love anything at all in the first place? I'm a sociopath, remember?" That was a lie. Murmur had once loved deeply enough to have cause to turn into what he had become now. It was easier for him to be the way he was, as evil as he was, than to actually let any of those pesky, pathetic emotions in. He preferred to keep the ones that kept him going. Emotions like anger, pride, wrath, and envy. Those were the emotions that kept him going.
Having Gideon's face so close but not being able to bite a chunk out of that neck of his was so insulting. His brother had to of known that. This was all fun for him. Murmur hated him with a burning passion. He grit his teeth together, listening to his brother spew venomous words.
Gideon backed off, and Murmur spoke through his teeth, anger attached to every word like a ball and chain, dragging them down. "I'm going to rip your head off. The moment I'm free. You'd be best to kill me now." He glared at him. His brother was as terrible as he was if he didn't. He doubted his brother, as heroic as he pretended to be, had any forgiving feelings left for him. He had to hate him just as much. So, if he wasn't going to kill him, that just meant he was selfish. He'd let Murmur run free one day just for the fun of getting to continue this game.
