I'm ready to burn down all the walls that I've been building up inside I wanna fly and put back all the pieces of this broken heart tonight Kaida was way past the age of needing to go to elementary school, but he supposed there was no harm in a twenty-five year old hanging out on the swing set of their playground if it was after hours. He'd been on his way home from work, but he didn't really feel like making it to his destination any time soon. The sun was still out for the time being, and he wasn't really looking forward to his small, empty, crammed apartment. Living the way he was living felt a little depressing, but he supposed he had no room to complain. He was better off than some people were.
This town was strange. He still had no memory of his previous life before he'd woken up on the side of the road, and he had no idea if he was ever going to remember again. The idea of that was really upsetting, but Kaida tried to keep his emotions jammed down for his own well being. He over thought everything, and that was dangerous for someone with a personality like his own.
As he swung low on the swing, he kept one hand on one of the metal chains attaching it to the top while the other played with the pendant on his necklace. It felt important for some reason, and Kaida had never taken it off. If anything, it made him feel a little connected to his past life. His shoes dragged through the sand with each motion of the swing.
Another weird thing about his life happened to be the fact that apparently magic was real. There were so many rumors and theories as to where it came from that Kaida couldn't even have a conversation in this town without it being brought up. The idea of people having powers, especially criminals, was a scary thing to him. When he'd first witnessed it, he almost wanted to go home and just spend the rest of his life in the corner of his apartment. There were a lot of dangerous people in the world that were going to be all the more dangerous. Kai almost wished he had his own magic just so he wouldn't feel so vulnerable out in the open like this.
Even with that thought, he just continued to swing.
