[attr="class","textieno"] Yet Lacey seemed so much like Belle. The way she was speaking, what she was saying, how she looked at him, how her eyes sparkled in the light. Oh, she was the most wonderful lady. While Belle probably wouldn’t really end up playing pool, Gold figured it was one of those cursed things, but it wasn’t anything major, and it was just another thing to love her for. It was another one of those little quirks that he found adorable. He couldn’t get enough with her. He would always love her, despite anything that she would do, even if she tore out his heart and stomped over it, he would always love her. He would want her until the end of time. He would fight for her happiness until the end of time (well, he might to things that would make her angry if he thought he could get away with it).

His heart was thudding in his chest so loud, so hard against his ribcage he was sure that she could hear it. He was so nervous, because he wanted her happiness to also mean his ultimate happiness, though if she were to reject him and truly mean it, then he would be happy as long as he knew that she was truly happy. But he didn’t want her to be happy without him. They barely were able to have a relationship because of him, they couldn’t be free to express their thoughts, their wants, their needs for each other because of him. And he wanted to make up for that. He finally had a chance to try to make up for all that he did wrong in the past. He wanted to show her that he loved her more than anything within his grasp right now. She was the love of his life, she was his light, she was his moon, she was his star, she was his everything. Except Bae, but that would always be there. But Bae wasn’t here, not now, not for a while, not until he could find his son once more. Belle wasn’t here either, but she was close. She was here right in front of him, trying to break through.

The curse had to be broken. Gold knew that before, but now it was a huge part of his happiness and everything he had been working towards. Emma needed to get a move on. And he had to push her to break this curse. He had to push her to bring back his Belle. But for now, he would get to know Lacey. He would fall in love with her all over again, no matter what changes she had, because beneath it all, she was still Belle.

“Maybe you could come by my shop sometime. I have… several books you might like then.” Antiques. He almost chucked at that, his nerves calming just slightly. He was an antique himself, old, used, worn, and frankly, useless, even with all his power, he still had to pay the price, and he wasn’t willing to pay it himself, and he was afraid from deviating from the plan in his head set forth by the combined forces of his intellect and the sway of the Dark One. “Antique, dusty jackets, that’s the sort of thing I specialize in.”
