I'm not just a SaviorAt least Killian was proving to a gentleman with regards to the fact that she was helping him out. Not necessarily a bad thing for any man to learn really as she held the doors open. Better to be a gentleman that thanked her for her time rather than just grumbling and complaining. She didn't have to help him at all, but she was going out of her way because it was the right thing to do in this situation. Not just because she was the deputy sheriff of Storybrooke, but he wasn't going to get by here with his own customs and currency. True, she could have dumped him on Graham and had him deal with the Pirate, but he was patrolling the streets at the moment while she dealt with Killian. A strange name for sure, but a pleasant change from the norms of society at least as they arrived at her apartment. He had gone silent, but Emma didn't really blame him as he chose to sat down while she got herself changed. Not much of a change really except she did put on a light blue t-shirt and jeans that were a bit more casual seeing as she wasn't on duty at the moment. She kept her badge on her hip still and made sure to hang up her jacket after grabbing the change of clothes for the man. If she was lucky, he wasn't going to ask questions about the clothing even if the jacket was hers and was just collecting dust.that's only half of who I am.
He smiled at her which in turn made her smile back as he took the offered clothes from her, once again thanking her for her help. She simply nodded and pointed to the washroom as she retreated to the small kitchen to get herself a glass of water. She quickly got a glass and filled it up taking a sip from it. She still couldn't believe how it had gotten to this point where she was having a conversation with a pirate. She still wasn't totally convinced about him being a real genuine pirate captain, but if it was a con then it was a pretty good one. At the very least, he didn't appear to be lying to her from the times she glanced at him trying to read his body language at certain times. That didn't necessarily mean anything, but from the brief moments of conversation they'd had he seemed truly sincere. Maybe not disclosing everything, but she wasn't getting the impression that he was lying about what they had discussed. She sighed contently as she leaned against the counter drinking her glass of water as her thoughts drifted to distant painful memories. She tried not to, but it wasn't like she had many guys coming into her life that were well quite so gentleman like as Killian. In fact, the only real relationship she'd had was with Neal and that had proved to be disastrous which only served to enforce the importance of keeping her distance.
It made it so that you couldn't be as easily hurt by the ones closest to you. Plus she often found she did better on her own in general having done that for so many years. Having a room mate, friends, a son was a lot to put on a young woman even if she was starting to come around. Granted, Ruby didn't exactly make it easy not to ignore and she proved to be good company at times when she was a bit overwhelmed. Same with Mary Margaret even if it felt strange at times noting the small similarities they had between each other. Henry kept telling her that it was because Mary Margaret was Snow White and therefore Emma's mother, but she wasn't so sure. Didn't stop Henry from continuing to insist such things were real and there was no real denying that something strange wasn't going on around here. Not that she would chalk it up to magic or fairy tale legends brought over from another world, but something more logical probably. She breathed heavily closing her eyes a moment to calm herself just as the door of the bathroom clicked open. Tossing the rest of the water down the sink she attempted to busy herself with some dishes before turning around to look at Killian.
"Glad to see my choice of clothing isn't too dislikable for you," replied Emma as she stared at him finding she was rather amazed by how much a simple chance of clothes could change her attitude.
She walked around him a moment to make sure that it fit, but it certainly did as she stood there marvelling at how the jacket and shirt sat fittingly over him. It was like looking at a new man knowing it would certainly be a change for him, but hopefully a not completely detestable one. She smiled up at him as she came back around to look at him cautiously moving closer to fix the collar of his shirt and then standing there like a proud mother. An almost laughable thought at this point as she stuffed her wallet in her pocket of her jeans and placed her hands on her hips.
"I know it's a bit of a change, but hopefully not a bad one. Your welcome to keep the jacket, I've never worn it. Anyways, we should get going if we hope to get what we want and eat. You can leave the jacket here and we can get it back when we return," suggested Emma as she gestured to the coat rack. That done she turned and went to go put on her own boots once more, zipping them up and preparing once more to step outside. At least it was a nice day though so they could take their time once they were ready to leave. Maybe this wouldn't be such a bad way to spend her afternoon after all.
