Say hello to all my little nightmares They're right here, I know them well From the moment Neal had stepped foot into Storybrooke, he felt strange in just about every way. There were so many people around him who had no idea who they even were. Each and every single one of them was living a lie, and unless Emma was able to come through, they'd continue to go on living like this. Emma. He knew he needed to stop by and see her, but he still couldn't bring himself to do so. The last time they'd encountered one another, he'd screwed her over royally. He just wanted what was best for her, but he doubted he would ever be able to explain such a thing.
Though he'd been living in this town for nearly two weeks now, this was the first time he'd gone outside since he'd moved in. He had enough food, and there wasn't any absolute necessity for him to have to. He'd come to this town to keep an eye on things, but it felt like all he had been doing since he'd stepped foot here was hiding. He was dreading having to run into his father, even if his father wouldn't recognize him. Now though, he was walking down the side walk of the town. Bravery had stuck him, and he had decided to just roll with it.
Neal was starting off small with a walk through the city, maybe even a small trip to the grocery store. Later this week, he figured he would make plans to actually do something. Of course, there was always the chance of running into Emma. Honestly, he figured it would be better for him to confront her first. Maybe even safer that way. That was it then. His plans for later on in the week were going to have to be to visit Emma, assuming he wouldn't chicken out again. For now, however, he was focused on just getting through the town without running into anyone he didn't want to see.
He'd have to get used to blending in if he intended on getting enough courage to spy on his father. No one could find him out of the ordinary. He was already found to be strange enough just based off the fact that he was a new face in such a small town. Luckily, he always had the excuse that he had been here all along. He'd decided to tell people he'd just been living sort of a hermit life style up until this point. No one new came here, he knew that. Therefore, he couldn't let anyone think he was. He couldn't afford the questions that he really wasn't ready for. His past was something he'd always desired to keep a secret. He was far too ashamed of where he came from. | OPEN | 462 words | Yup. |
